History

Alleyoop Racing was formed in 1993 to build and race a Dwarf car.

Ted and John Peter have successfully raced this car every season since completing it in 1994.

Originally built to race on the dirt at Cassidy Speedway where we competed for 7 years. When Cassidy Speedway was closed we engineered the suspension to race on asphalt.

The 5/8 scale 1933 Buick coupe has been re-powered over the years with different engines, 1978 XS 1000 Yamaha, 1988 ZX10 Kawasaki, 1977 900 Kawasaki bored to 1229 cc., 2001 FZS 1000, and for the 2010 season a 1999 R1 Yamaha.

Many talented  drivers have been behind the wheel of our car. Ted Skaling whom helped build the car, was the first driver. Dave Smith drove the car several times in the early years. Dave Emmerson was driving the car when Cassidy closed. Dave was  successful at Cassidy and holds the track record for dwarf cars. Dave also had successeses at Skagit speedway placing well at the National event held there.John Walker took over the driving duties when Dave left to drive Dave Smith's sprint car. John raced at Western, Saratoga, Hannigan, Penticton and Aggassis  Speedways. When John retired at the end of the 2004 season, John McNabb from Port Alberni drove the car for 2 years and he then bought his own car. BJ Bradley from Comox contacted us to help him build a car and while that was ongoing he drove our #10 very successfully setting a track record at Saratoga. In 2008 Dave Emmerson came out of retirment to drive the #10 again. Dave  won the championship in 2008 . Dave drove the 2009 season until he got an opportunity to drove a Late Model at Western Speedway. Doug Morton filled in for the completion of the 2009 season. And is now the perminent  Driver ..
The car has been painted many colors to match the sponsors needs. Jane Wheaton painted the blue ,then Details Auto body paint the car Apple Green , When Walkers saw shop sponsored the car we painted it Husquvarna orange. When John McNabb's Toyota dealership sponsored the car ,Details Auto body again painted the car two tone Burgundy and Silver. After a severe rollover  the car was painted light Grey.
